Region Management

Role Required: SUPER_ADMIN / TNCHS_ADMIN
Last Updated: March 2026 | Portal Version: 1.0

Overview

Regions are the organizational grouping layer between the platform level and individual societies. Each region contains one or more societies, and Regional Admins are assigned to oversee their region's societies. Regions are pre-configured in the system and used as reference data throughout the platform.

Regional Structure

│ ├── Society 1 (Society Admin)
│ ├── Society 2 (Society Admin)

How Regions Are Used

Regions do not have a dedicated management page. Instead, they appear as dropdown selections in several places across the platform:

Society Creation

When creating a new society, you select the region from a dropdown:

  1. Navigate to Societies → Create Society
  2. The Region field is a required dropdown listing all available regions
  3. Selecting a region determines which Regional Admin will have oversight of the society

Admin User Assignment

When creating or assigning a Regional Admin:

  1. Navigate to Users → Create Admin User (or edit an existing user's roles)
  2. Select the REGIONAL_ADMIN role
  3. Select the region from the dropdown

Society Management Filters

The Societies list page includes a Region filter dropdown to narrow the society list by region.

Dashboard Drill-Down

Regional data appears in:

  • State Dashboard — performance metrics per region
  • Regional Dashboard — detailed view of all societies in a specific region

Assigning a Regional Admin

  1. Go to Users → [Select the user] (or create a new admin user)
  2. Add the REGIONAL_ADMIN role
  3. Select the target region
  4. The user now has oversight of all societies within that region

See Admin Management for detailed role assignment steps.

Assigning Societies to a Region

When creating or editing a society, select the region from the Region dropdown:

  1. Open the society creation form or detail page
  2. Select the desired Region
  3. Save
note

Moving a society to a different region changes which Regional Admin has oversight. Ensure the new region's admin is aware.

Common Scenarios

"A region has no admin — who manages its societies?"

Without a Regional Admin, the societies in the region still operate normally through their Society Admins. Regional dashboards and reports won't have a dedicated reviewer. You (Super Admin) can monitor these societies directly from the platform dashboard.

"I need a new region added to the system"

New regions are added at the database/infrastructure level by the development team. Contact your technical team to add new regions to the system.

"I need to move a society to a different region"

  1. Open the society detail
  2. Edit → Change the Region field
  3. Save
  4. Reassign Regional Admin roles as needed
