Video Tutorials

The Video Tutorials section provides step-by-step video guides to help you navigate and use the platform effectively.

Accessing Video Tutorials

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Click the Help Videos icon in the navigation bar (or visit /tutorials directly)
  3. Browse the available tutorials

How Tutorials Are Organised

Videos are grouped into two sections:

  • For Everyone — General platform tutorials applicable to all users
  • For Your Role — Videos tailored to your specific role (Citizen, Society Admin, Regional Admin, etc.)

Each video card shows:

  • A thumbnail preview of the content
  • The title and a brief description
  • The target audience (role badge)

Click any video card to watch the tutorial directly in the browser.

For Admins: Managing Tutorial Videos

Super Admins and TNCHS Admins can manage the tutorial video library from the admin panel.

Uploading a New Tutorial

  1. Navigate to System Admin → Content & Communication → Tutorial Videos
  2. Click Upload Tutorial Video
  3. Fill in the details:
    • Title (required) — A clear, descriptive name
    • Description — What the tutorial covers
    • Video File (required) — Drag & drop or click to select (MP4, WebM, or MOV; max 500 MB)
    • Thumbnail (optional) — A preview image for the video card
    • Target Role — Which user role this tutorial is for, or "All" for everyone
    • Publish — Toggle to make it immediately visible
  4. Click Save

Editing a Tutorial

  1. On the Tutorial Videos management page, find the video card
  2. Click the Edit (pencil) icon
  3. Update the title, description, target role, or publish status
  4. Click Save

Publishing / Unpublishing

  • Click the Publish/Unpublish toggle on any video card to control visibility
  • Unpublished tutorials are hidden from end users but remain in the admin library

Reordering Videos

  • Drag and drop video cards to rearrange the display order
  • The new order is saved automatically

Deleting a Tutorial

  1. Click the Delete (trash) icon on the video card
  2. Confirm the deletion in the dialog
caution

Deleting a tutorial video removes the video file permanently. This action cannot be undone.

Troubleshooting

Video won't play

  • Ensure your browser supports HTML5 video (all modern browsers do)
  • Check that the video format is MP4, WebM, or MOV
  • Try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache

Upload fails

  • Verify the file size is under 500 MB
  • Ensure the file extension is .mp4, .webm, or .mov
  • Check your internet connection for large uploads

Videos not showing for users

  • Confirm the video's Publish toggle is enabled
  • Verify the Target Role matches the intended audience
  • Check that the Tutorial Videos feature flag is enabled in the environment configuration
